Rating: - Inexpensive monitor table mount
This is the second identical mount that I have purchased. My desire was to get a table mount that would fold up relatively compactly and not cost too much. In my opinion, $75.00 was a deal breaker. I modified the first one to mount (bolt) to a half-inch thick piece of plastic that I could either move to my lap on my recliner or leave on a table. I bought the second one (this purchase) to replace a mount that broke. Again, I could not find a better cost/performance trade off. This one is mounted to my desk and is unmodified. I am very satisfied with both. This product is extremely rugged.

Rating: - Too short
This monitor arm is high quality aluminum and comes with everything you need to mount your lcd monitor. Unfortunately, Amazon has the incorrect picture for this product. The picture shows the 'VM-821 COLUMN MOUNT' rather then the VM-811 you are actually buying. This product does not include the pole you see connected to the clamp. The horizontal bar connects directly to the clamp, so this product is much shorter then the picture shows. It only elevates my 17" monitor 2 inches above what the normal stand does. From the top of the VESA mount to the surface of my desk is about 14 inches, not nearly as much as I had hoped.

Anyways, if you don't need much height at all, then this is a good, cheap arm. If you plan on adjusting the arm continuously, you might wear out the joints pretty quickly, and they will likely loose their resistance, which is needed to keep the monitor in the position you want.

One more thing, you need to have a ledge on your desk that extends out at least 2 inches, or the clamp will not be secure. My desk only has a 1 inch ledge, so I need to make a cut to make this fit, or use a different mounting method.
