- Busted RJ45 Solved
Evenually, when I am feeling very adventurous, I will take apart my laptop and solder in a new RJ45. I shouldn't bother. This adapter got me up and running just fine, though I did have to install the drivers from the disk.

dm9601 chipset. Supported on Linux, but only very recent versions (2.6.21 or later).

Unfortunately not supported by the version of Linux included in latest Debian GNU/Linux release.
