Fantastic collection for a beginner
Although I know a lot about popular music, I have rather less exposure when it comes to classical music. That said, this box set knocked me off my feet. On all four CD's I was consistently blown away by the passion and the quality of the music. I am no technical critic, but in general I know great music when I hear it!
This set of CD's really inspired me to find out more about Rachmaninov and classical music in general. As a pleasant side effect, my baby absolutely loves this CD - gets very chilled out when I play it.
Excellent purchase and I'd recommend it to anyone.

Wonderful Value, Great Performances
This set combines Zoltan Kocsis' fine set of the piano concertos with his stunning solo recital album (containing one of the best interpretations of the 2nd piano sonata anywhere) along with a fine version of the 2nd Symphony and the Rock. The sent concludes with the Vespers performed by the St. Petersburg Chorale. Until just recently, the Kocsis albums were only available as an import. If you know your recordings (even if you don't), this is an incredible deal. Don't miss it.
