Editorial Review:

Product Description:
Twilight is an action packed, modern day love story between a vampire and a human. Bella Swan has always been a little bit different and when her mother sends Bella to live with her father in the rainy little town of Forks, Washington, she doesn't expect much of anything to change. Then she meets the mysterious and dazzlingly beautiful Edward Cullen, a boy unlike any she's ever met. Soon, Bella and Edward are swept up in a passionate and decidedly unorthodox romance. Like all vampires, he's immortal. But he doesn't have fangs, and he doesn't drink human blood. To Edward, Bella is that thing he has waited 90 years for: a soul mate. But the closer they get, the more Edward must struggle to resist the primal pull of her scent, which could send him into an uncontrollable frenzy. But what will Edward and Bella do when James, Laurent and Victoria, the Cullens' mortal vampire enemies, come to town, looking for her? This is the first movie from the book series from author Stephanie Meyer. The series are currently some of the most popular books written for young adults, with sales exceeding 50 million copies worldwide since the Twilight debut in 2004 and over 7.7 million copies sold in the U.S. alone. The fourth book in the series, Breaking Dawn, was released on August 2, 2008 and sold over 1.2 million units on the first day.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Romeo and Juliet
I don't own this CD, but I listened to the samples. I was expecting a soundtrack like the soundtrack to "Romeo and Juliet" with Leonardo Di Caprio in it. That is the music I would picture with Twilight.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Pretty good
First off Bella's Lullaby was a terrible choice. Like other reviewers have pointed out, this is supposed to be a piano only piece, not a full orchestra.
I initially thought the other selections seemed a little tormented, but then I had to remember that this is a love story set amongst teenagers or "sort of" teenagers. I would have eaten this soundtrack up when I was a teenager. All the angst and "no one understands me" typical thoughts of every kid.
I was listening to it while walking my dog and as a fellow Western Washingtoner, the dreary tunes really match the weather here.
All in all, there are some good songs here although a few of them didn't really match the tone of the books for me.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Not what I expected, but pretty good
Being a huge fan of the books, I expected different songs on this than what there is. Especially, when on Stephenie's website, she has playlists for all of the books. I guess since I listened to her playlists, I expected some of those songs to make it to the CD, and none of them did. So I was kinda surprised by the song choices. But, most of the songs are pretty good. Paramore, Muse, Linkin Park, Collective Soul, and Rob Patterson's songs are probably the best ones. The Black Ghosts "Full Moon" I didn't like at first, but it grew on me. Mutemath, Perry Farrell, and Blue Foundation's songs, I didn't really like, and I didn't think they really fit with the books. Carter Burwell's "Bella's Lullaby" was a big disapointment. If you read the books, you have a certain sound in your head that you expect for the song. This isn't it. In the book, it's strictly a piano played song that Edward always hums to Bella. Carter Burwell's song is played with more than one instrument, and I can't imagine it being hummed. Nor does the song have that feeling of the love between Bella and Edward. The song is probably one of the most important songs on this album, because it was really major in the book, and it just didn't cut it. I would still reccomend it to Twilight fans, but would say to expect to be a little disapointed.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great CD
everything that I could want from a CD. The music by all the artist are great. Good value for the price, would buy another for friends and family. If your a Twilight fan, you will enjoy.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Pleasantly Surprising
After seeing that Robert Pattinson sings and checking out the list of artists on the soundtrack... I wasn't ready for anything great. But the more I listen to the soundtrack, the more I can associate the music and lyrics to moments in our beloved first Twilight book. I think that the songs were carefully chosen and work perfectly with the story.

I know many aren't fans of Robert Pattinson singing, but the more I listen to his songs the more I like them.

It is definitely worth your time and money!

Sales of semiconductors in November indicate that consumer products such as LCD (liquid crystal display) TVs, digital music players, and other devices sold well during the holidays, the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) said Monday.

November chip sales rose 2.3 percent year-on-year to $23.1 billion, the SIA said.

Unit demand has far outpaced last year. But falling chip prices have hurt industry revenue, the chip association said. For example, DRAM (dynamic RAM) bit shipments grew 25 percent in the three months through mid-December, but average selling prices have declined 20 percent over the same period.

The association also noted that rising energy prices and concerns about the sub-prime lending issue in the U.S. do not appear to have had a significant impact on consumer spending for the holidays, the SIA said. The group reiterated its forecast that worldwide semiconductor sales will reach a new record in 2007. But it will take a stronger than expected December selling season to reach the 3.8 percent growth goal the group had forecast earlier this year, the SIA said.

Investment banking firm Credit Suisse was not as optimistic as the SIA.

The November data was below normal seasonal trends, noted analyst John Pitzer, in a report on Monday. Even if December reaches its normal seasonal growth, 2007 industry revenue will only reach $255.7 billion, up 3.2 percent over last year. The growth percentage would fall short of the SIA's 3.8 percent target.

The slow November prompted Credit Suisse to lower its 2008 chip industry revenue forecast to 9.4 percent year-on-year growth, down from a previous target of 13 percent.
