Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great musician's practice tool -- for the technically inclined
I want this to be four stars, not five, because the documentation needs to improve, and although I think this is a fantastic device and a fantastic value, it is not without its drawbacks.

Able to make 32KHz mono WAV file recordings with the internal mic, this unit is great for capturing music practices. The FM reception is fine but I don't recommend *recording* from the radio as the unit's internal electronics interfere with the FM reception during recording. With the ability to slow WAV and MP3 files down to 2/3 speed without changing pitch, and at the same time use the A/B repeat and pause features, this becomes a great little music transcription device too. Definitely download the firmware upgrade from the manufacturer, as it greatly enhances your ability to navigate the device's folders and its battery life. The documentation is poor at best but the features are a fabulous value for the money. A little patience figuring out the features on this device will pay off nicely.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - I just deleted my 4 star review.
A great sounding little player; I really liked it. But after a few days it became difficult to turn on and off. The (>) button became intermitant, sometimes taking 6 or 7 tries to turn it on or off, finally I could not turn it off and had to remove the battery. It is back in the box, to be shipped back to Amazon tomorrow, then I will order a Sansa m250. So, my long 4 star review has been replaced with this short 1 star review.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - An excellent buy if you are 'mp3 player savvy'
It was a great price . The radio is really good , yet I am finding it hard to access any podcasts etc that I have downloaded. If you are really savvy in these areas , it appears to be a good buy. If not, I wld spend more money on a more user friendly item.
I do like the fact it uses one normal aaa battery.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great value - versatile recorder for the price
For under $60, this little mp3 player does everything I need. Aside from playing mp3 and wav files, the FM reception is better than some dedicated radios I've had, and any 1-meter cord plugged into the headphone jack is plenty of antenna. I love that the T.sonic 520 has a line-in and microphone for recording any analog audio or voice. You can set it to one of 3 recording qualities, and play back mp3s at one of 4 speeds. The included earbuds are not so great, so I use a pair of AKG K26P folding headphones instead for great budget sound. One thing that could have been improved is that the USB connector could have stowed on the unit somehow - without it, the flash drive functionality can be impaired. Overall though, highly recommended!
