Not your average box set
While this is definately NOT for the car or for 'lite listening', this box set is worth the purchase if you wish to explore the ritual/trance music of different religions. I enjoyed it greatly and felt like I got a peek into the spiritual energy of the religious paths chosen to appear on this CD.

Odd and a little boring, but very interesting
Do not listen to this in the car. Shut it off if you're talking to someone. If you've got anything else to do, don't bother. You might as well have white noise in the background if you plan on doing anything while listening to this music. It's not made to be the background. In the cultures these pieces were born out of, they are very much a part of the foreground.
Any music lover can appreciate the content of this collection, but it takes a very patient person (with a lot of free time) to be able to sit through all of it. I would suggest that if you have 15 or 20 minutes free, listen to a track, and do nothing else. If you can manage that kind of time out of your day, you'll understand why this music stands out against so much of the other garbage people try and pass off as music these days. This gets into your head and your heart, where it's supposed to be.
I would rate this album higher if it were easier to pay attention to or more accessible, but because of its nature and length (3 discs), all but the most die hard music lovers will end up getting rid of it. If you think you're up for it, give it a try.
