Cheap and easy to use. I use this on my Macbook to watch DVDs and HD movies. It outputs Dolby Digital and DTS to my receiver just fine. I wish the Macbook accepted optical inputs without an adapter though. It also works fine when I boot into Windows XP & Vista. You plug an optical cord into the back of this, and then plug the adapter into the headphone port on the left side of the Macbook. Works on the Mac Mini and Macbook Pro also.
