Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Slick, sophisticated magazine
This magazine is mostly aimed at making clothing/wearables and is slick with lots of great pictures. Not for everyone, but like all Tauton publications it is sophisticated and has those articles many other magazines don't cover. Often the articles will cover how designers construct clothing or how great past designers such as Coco Channel changed design, imagined color, constructed their clothing, etc. There are also many imaginative embellishments and views of great vintage clothing. Perhaps not for everyone but has its place and is a feast for the eyes.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - unfortunately a disappointment
Given the high cost of this magazine and the few issues per year, you'd think the publisher would go out of their way to not irritate their customer base. I got this as a gift for someone else, and she was sent the previous and current issues right off the bat, and barely had her first "new" issue when the renewal notice came.
She asked me not to renew it. Too little content for too high a price- other magazines give better value.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great Magazine
I've found this to be one of the best and most helpful magazines on sewing. I've learned many short cuts, tips and techniques, as well as new places to shop. As a beginning sewer, I've found my projects have become less stressful and more successful from what I've learned from the articles I read in Threads. The fitting series was a gem, I can't wait to see what the next year will bring. I keep my issues handy as a reference when sewing so I can look back at the notes I've made in the article margins.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - I havent received my order yet, but...
This magazine is amazing! I absolutely love it, it has a ton of awesome tips with every issue. I cant wait until I receive my first issue, and if I don't soon, I love it so much that I'm going to go by it off the newsstand. The anticipation is killing me!

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Changed format/contents
I have always enjoyed every issue of Threads in the past. The new format / contents does not appeal to me. Threads is now a beginner sewing magazine like many others on the market. Thread's was once a great magazine, the only one on the market for the intermediate and advanced sewers. The projects were wonderful and I and other's I know kept every single issue. Not now, there isn't really much in Thread's for the wearable art/advanced sewer. I will really miss the couture finishing techniqes and other articles with new ideas. These articles were much more detailed than any book. Because of this detail a sewer with some experience could use these articles to become an advanced sewer more quickly than buying many books. I only gave the 2 star's because it is a nice beginner magazine. If you are new to sewing this is a good magazine, but the more advanced sewer's should pass this one up.
