A cheerful, energetic, and completely entertaining movie, The Bank Job follows some small-time hoods who think they've lucked into a big-time opportunity when they learn a bank's security system will be temporarily suspended--little suspecting that they're being manipulated by government agents for their own ends. The result is that the movie doubles its pleasures: While the robbery itself has the usual suspense of a heist film, when the robbery is over the hoods find themselves being hunted by the police, the government, and brutal criminal kingpins who were storing dangerous information in a safety deposit box. The Bank Job won't win any awards, but it's enormously fun. Director Roger Donaldson (No Way Out, Species) propels the action along with vigor, editing zippily with perfect clarity among multiple storylines and various colorful characters. Jason Statham (Snatch, The Transporter), as the leader of the bank robbers, successfully steps away from his usual bone-crunching roles to a more human presence. The rest of the cast--including Saffron Burrows (Deep Blue Sea), Keeley Hawes (Tipping the Velvet), David Suchet (Poirot), and many faces familiar from British film and television--give their characters the right degree of personality and flavor without getting fussy or detracting from the headlong rush of the story. Rating: - Grim and gritty
Not the usual caper movie. And that's good. Truth is stranger than fiction. The entertainment comes as the dumb threaten the arrogant. The evil punish the careless. And the quick outwit the establishment. A marriage survives. And the details are still out there.

I basically bought the movie because of Jason Statham, and I wasn't disappointed.
It is a good movie about a couple of misfits are robbing a bank.
What I like about the flick is, the setting and the characters portrayed in this film.
On top, it has this typical British feeling to it, what makes most movies from the island somehow special.

Rating: - Like The Italian Job
Flat out funny and smart film. To say anything would spoil the film. The film never stops with the actions and moments that make you snicker.

Disc 2 is the digital copy, compatible with Windows Media and iTunes. The bonus features on Disc 1 were pretty nice, going into the heist.

If you liked The Italian Job (old or new), get this film. If you like the Bond films, get this film.

Rating: - Not a bad movie, Jason Statham makes the movie
A pretty good movie with some decent acting. Saffron plays a straight laced British lady with a double (or is it triple) side. It's amazing that the story is even true. Regardless, definitely worth a see.

Rating: - Good buy.
This movie was a blind buy for me. It is a really good movie that is well written and has excellent pacing. Everybody puts in a good performance, and since it is based off of actual events it is not over the top like Statham flicks have been as of late. Very well done.
