Amazon.com Product Description:

Seventh Generation Liquid Dish Detergent is powerful enough to get your dishes sparkling clean, yet gentle on your hands and the Earth. Made with a refreshing Lavender Floral and Mint scent and all-natural ingredients that do not pose any health risks to you or your environment, this dish detergent is made with the well-being of you and the Earth in mind.

Completely Natural Cleaning Power for Your Dishes
Seventh Generation Liquid Dish Detergent is tough on dirt and grease while being completely free of chlorine, ammonia, strong acids, and petroleum-based ingredients. This biodegradable, non-toxic dish detergent is made from a combination of naturally derived cleaning agents (coconut-based surfactants) and natural whole plant essences that will clean your dishes without leaving any harmful residues behind.

Non-toxic, biodegradable, hypo-allergenic, Kosher-certified and phosphate-free, this gently scented Seventh Generation Dish Detergent is safe for septic and gray water systems and has never been tested on animals.

Why Clean Naturally?
Unlike many conventional dish detergents, the Seventh Generation Liquid Dish Detergent does not create unpleasant fumes, will not leave harmful residues, and is safer for the environment. Plant-derived cleaners are made from renewable resources rather than from petroleum. Studies show that making household cleaners from plant-derived materials uses less energy than making the same cleaners from petroleum. Using less energy helps reduce emissions of greenhouse gases.

If every household in the U.S. replaced just one 25-ounce bottle of petroleum based dishwashing liquid with this plant-derived product, we could save 86,000 barrels of oil--enough to heat and cool 4,900 U.S. homes for a year!

The Right (Natural) Fragrance for your Home
Our sense of smell is powerful and evocative. Experiencing a scent unfold can transform our mood, transport us to distant places, or connect us through a shared experience. When you use natural cleaners, not only do you care for the health of the environment, you also care for the health of the people in your home. The scents in Seventh Generation household cleaners are created from whole and natural plant essences, and let you clean without harsh or unpleasant chemicals and odors.

Lavender Floral and Mint scent is engaging and nurturing and is designed to bring a sense of equilibrium and balance to your kitchen. It is made from a gentle blend of lavender, lime, spearmint, peppermint, and ylang-ylang whole plant essences.

About Seventh Generation
Seventh Generation offers a complete line of natural household products designed to work as well as their traditional counterparts, but use renewable, non-toxic, phosphate-free, and biodegradable ingredients as often as possible, and are never tested on animals. Seventh Generation products are healthy and safe for the air, the surfaces, the pets, and the people in your home--and for the environment outside of it. Every time you use Seventh Generation products you make a difference by saving natural resources, keeping toxic chemicals out of the environment, and making the world a safer place for this and the next seven generations.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The best natural dishliquid on the market
This soap is natural and tough on grease. I've been using it for 5 years and I am very satisfied with the results.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - More poor packaging...
This is a great product, but every shipment I receive (3 recently) has had one bottle open, and many dented bottles. The soap leaks through two packing boxes. The dents wouldn't bother me, except that I use them for "green" cleaning gift baskets for clients. Unfortunately, I may have to find another source!

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Works well
It seems to work as well as anything else while still being environmentally sound, but it is a bit more expensive.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Effective, biodegradable cleanser
Like others, I had a problem with the flimsiness of the packaging. I didn't order it online, but purchased it from Target. Within an hour, I discovered a major leakage. Luckily, I was able to exchange it for another bottle immediately.

When I first tried this product, I was doubtful that it would be as effective as Palmolive; it's definitely runny. However, I found that I could use the same amount of Seventh Generation and get nearly identical results. The smell is heavenly as well; it doesn't reek of detergent.

One qualm I still have about Seventh Generation is its ingredients. I do believe that it is biodegradable, but I wonder if it is safer than other commercial detergents. Sodium laureth sulfate is one of the first ingredients listed, and it is an ingredient we are told to avoid in cosmetics. I don't want to put it on my face, but I don't want to ingest it either. If anyone could offer input on this, I'd love to hear it. Is Seventh Generation any safer for humans than other soaps?

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Surprisingly Good
Seventh Generation Dish Soap / B000E1G02W

I was a little worried about switching over to this dish soap, but I took the plunge and I'm really glad that I did. I feel that the dishes get as clean as they did before, and my hands don't feel raw and painful after washing. I have really bad skin allergies, which is probably why chemical cleaners disagree with me so much, and I'm very happy with this natural cleaner.

I originally purchased a single bottle from Drugstore.com, but Amazon turns out to be a slightly lower price (adjusted for scale, of course), so I'll probably order the larger Amazon pack whenever I run out next time.
