Editorial Review:Product Description:The exterior design of the DIGIMAX A55W is simple compared to other digital cameras. The location of the Power button near the part where a user grips the camera simplifies the button arrangement, which can be easily complex in regular digital cameras. Due to the location advantage, you can turn-on the power very easily and quickly while gripping the camera. The button arrangement makes the image of this digital camera more elegant and stylish. The DIGIMAX A55W employs a high resolution large LCD so you can take pictures whilst viewing subjects via the clear and large screen. The large LCD makes this camera a perfect substitute for a camcorder particularly for users who frequently use movie functions. The 200, 000 pixels high resolution TFT LCD will give you satisfaction when shooting and playing images.Various and complex digital camera functions make regular users who are not familiar with various camera functions uncomfortable when using a camera. The DIGIMAX A55W provides convenient function and setting buttons that can be used simply and easily with just one hand. In addition, this small pocket sized body enables you to firmly grip the digital camera. Thus, you can easily operate camera buttons in any situation.

worst camera
The features are neato, but the designers forgot one of the basic issues of electrical engineering: POWER CONSUMPTION. This thing lasts about 5 minutes on normal batteries. Therefore almost totally unusable. Very disappointed.

Yeah, Junk!
2 good things about it (when it worked) was the Wide Angle Lens, and the LCD is large.
Eventually, the lens stopped focusing upon start up, I would have to restart it multiple times for it to finally work. Then, the telescopic lens just decided to stop moving and not retract, rendering it useless.
I got little use out of this camera. Samsung makes good cameras, just stay away from this one.

Junk
This is one of the worst electronics purchases I have ever made. Frankly, when it did work, it did not work correctly. I got virtually use out of it before it died. I must say I am glad that it died early, because I can get reimbursed for this piece of junk by the Mastercard extended warranty program.

Didn't even last 6 months
This camera was worthless. It cost me a lot of money, and the quality was horrible. It took a long time for the pictures load and it had a slow shutter speed. This camera didnt even last for 6 months. and even before that a lot of times it wouldn't turn on right away and I would have to turn it on and off several times before it would start up. It was a very poor quality camera, for a lot of money. I dont recemmend this camera to anyone.

Great camera - when it works
Camera worked great right after we bought it in June 2006. By January 2007, it was slow to open, and I'd have to bang it with my hand or tilt it a certain way to get it to open and turn on. I'm going to see about the warranty to get it fixed.
Oh, it does eat batteries. But we started using rechargeables shortly after purchase, and it takes a lot longer for the camera to eat those... I can get triple the pics off rechargeable batteries.
I have no issues with downloading photos.
That is, when it works.
Edited to add: The camera is pretty much dead now. Granted, I gave it a hell of a workout when I first got it (5200 pictures in the first month), but I haven't used it more than might be typical usage since. It won't even turn on anymore, and I have pictures I need to offload.
