Editorial Review:Product Description:With its extensive configuration, high resolution and the compact Design the Digimax 210SE is the photographic instrument of the future, a digital camera, which leaves hardly any desires unsatisfied. The 1.8 inch LCD color monitor on the rear side of the Digimax 210SE does not only serve as menu window for the picture administration on the memory card, but can with unfavorable lighting conditions serve as a back-up for the optical viewfinder. The selection wheel on the top side of the Digimax 210SE enables not only a remarkably comfortable operation of the camera, but guarantees to that that one can change its position within seconds without annoying pauses between the different functions. The objective of the Digimax 210SE is a three-fold zoom shot with a focal length range from 5, 8 , 17.4 mm. This corresponds with 35mm cameras to a focal length range from 38 , 115mm. that enables the digital two-fold zoom to double the focal length. The small window on the top of a camera informs about the available capacity on the memory card. If the card is full, one exchanges it in few seconds or downloads the image files on a computer.

Not worth the money
I just started my gift basket business and thought this would be a great way to 1. save money 2. save time. I spent more time fixing my pictures than anything. Now I find out my flash is broken, and the bad flash may have caused the darkeness in my pictures. I take pictures of my baskets before I sell them, and when they're gone I can't get them back to take another picture. I am now in search for a better camera. I don't know why I'll never learn that you get what you pay for.

Not happy
This is the first time I have ever bothered to write a review although I feel that it is necessary to save other people some grief. I got this camera for 1/2 off at a going out of business sale and I regret even that! One reviewer had said that the lag time is awful. I couldn't agree more! We took it whale watching on our vacation to Boston. I now have pleanty of dark pictures of the very end of the whale and also many of the water splash the whales leave. What a let down!

Good (not great) camera for the money
Camera takes decent pictures, certainly good enough for web sites and general photography, but you wouldn't mistake the images as something from a professional camera (and at this price, you really wouldn't expect to).
What I really like about this camera is the service. I just sent the camera in to fix a problem with the flash and mode selector wheel. A new reconditioned camera was received only 2 weeks after it was sent in.

lasted 4hrs
I have used a few digi cams the kodak easyshare dx3600, nikon coolpix775, both of wich had good image quality , and sony I wanted my own istead of using everyone elses what I realy wanted was the nikon it took the best but I decided to save the money and get the samsung thinking becouse it was 2megapic it would be ok. Not even close, taking a picture wasnt easy as the camera was not quick enough I missed everything that I took, the lcd viewer was so dark I tried using it then gave up,it had some good options but no explanation as how to or when it would be best to use them, not only that but since the view finder was so awfull it was hard to read the options and change them. Then came time for me to transfer them to my computer they looked awfull the worst I had ever seen you could sea every block the color was poor and dark just hidius I wouldnt even take it a step further to print it why bother I knew this camera was junk and returned it 4 hrs after buying it. for the money I sugest the kodak for the same price much better picture and the instructions are great or go up 50 bucks or so and get the nikon even better just dont buy the samsung

Good camera but could be better.
This is my first digital camera and I have been fairly satisfied with it. Generally, I agree with the previous reviews. Overall, it is a good camera and the price was just right - especially with the mail-in rebate! My research, including these reviews, concludes that this camera is of generally good quality and comparable to many similar cameras.
Pictures have been very good quality with any of the settings. Menus allow some adjustments and the usual camera settings. Not too complicated but very useful. But images are often brighter in the camera's ccd display than when viewed on the computer screen. Haven't experienced poor image quality problems thus far. They look great on the computer screen. Print outs look quite good as well. That has as much to do with your printer as your camera.
The movie option is great fun. Only I wish it could record longer movies. Disappointed by the lack of a sound option. Of course, it is not a video camera so don't expect much. Yet has been great fun for computer viewing and might even try sending via e-mail and sharing on family website.
The camera's two biggest problems are: it uses up batteries much too quickly, and images tend to be too dark when taken in low light conditions.
Again, these are problems typical of these cameras. But they can be acceptable considering other things such as cost. Certainly, an AC adapter saves batteries during image downloads (and handy when taking pictures) and is available at the usual places. Odd that Samsung doesn't offer an adapter or recharger kit. Get the best batteries you can find and keep an extra set handy. Adobe's PhotoDeluxe software provided with the camera is simple and great. I'll not bother to use my other photo editing software. Even so, it would become quite tedious to 'fix' every dark pic captured inside at, say, someone's birthday party. I think I can live with this problem, for now.
Also, buying additional memory cards is a big plus. I am considering 64 or 128 mega pixel Sandisk cards. Price is reasonable, so why not have the added flexibility?
Recommendation: worth buying if it suits your digital camera needs and expectations. could make for a good beginner digital camera.
