Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Warranty Rip OFF
After I purchased this camera I had to send it out for repair. After I took a picture it would only store every other picture. Since Mar. 2006 I have sent it out 2 more times for the same problem. And now after I take a picture it shuts off. Now I can only use it for a paper weight. And there is no phone number listed for the repair center.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - You pay what you get.
I am an advanced camera enthusiast and I have at least 15 different cameras of various brands.

The Konica performs well for its price and class, it does do a worse job in dark environment without flash. The focus always hunts in different shooting and even movie mode.

With nice daylight, it performs OK but the quality of the picture are really so so. In my opinion, the noise level is a little bit high compare to other competitors.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Great camera for outdoor daylight photography
I've been using this camera for almost 2 years. This is really a great outdoor camera. The 12x zoom, the image stabilization work really great. The picture quality is very nice. The body of the camera is very well designed and is really easy to use. But this camera is really weak when it comes to low light conditions. It fails many a times to focus on the subject. The picture quality, if you manage to take a picture in dark, is really bad.

If only this camera was built with a focus assist lamp, it'd been the best in its range.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Great refurbished camera; especially for 140 clams
I got this camera the other day. It was factory refurbished, but it was as good as new. The image stabilization at the full 12x zoom is wonderful. The other day, I took a great picture of my son jumping off a sand dune and catching him in mid-air. I was at full zoom, at a over 150'. I was able to do this, as there is very little delay between my pushing the shutter and the picture being taken. So far, I'm happy with this purchase. BTW... my refurbished camera came with alkaline batteries and a 16MB SD card. However, it was missing the cord to the lens cap. Small concession, given the price.

The cons for this camera include the small, low definition 1.5" LCD screen; the flash that must be manually raised; the need for a high-speed SD card to take a lengthy 640x480 movie clip at 30 fps.

In my opinion, the pros far outweigh the cons. I highly recommend this camera, even though it is 2 year old technology. I recommend this camera over the Dimage Z6, as the Z6 cripples the movie mode byeliminating the 640x480 resolution movies.

If you don't mind spending much more money, take a good look at the new Canon S3 IS. It is coming out in April '06 and seems like it has a lot of promise!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Incredible Camara
I'm very happy with the camera. The 12x zoom is very important to me, because I have a small daughter and it's impossible to take pictures when she's dancing in the stage using a regular 3x optical zoom. With this 12x zoom, I'll be able to get pictures. The fast Auto Focus is also important to take pictures from a small kid who can't wait more than few seconds to take a picture.

The viewfinder is not optical like most cameras. We have a LCD screen inside. When you use the view finder, you'll be able to see the picture much better than using the LCD in the back.

The stabilizer is great. It's incredible to see it working. As soon you press the shot-button just a little, to adjust the focus, you can notice the stabilized image in the view-finder. The results are very good.

Other important point: the movie. It's 30 fps 640x480 movie. It's almost the same quality of a actual camcorder. You can buy many 512/1GB SD cards ($20 each of 512 here at Amazon) and leave your camcorder at home, doing everything with this camcorder.

I can't tell much about the battery life because I'm not using this camera for more than 1 week. But, compared to my old Olympus D560, this new camera seems to be better, using less battery.

The one I ordered is this refurbished. No complains. Much cheaper, comes with a paper from Konica Minolta and is working very well.

Recommend.
