Editorial Review:

Product Description:
That 60's icon is back! After a well-publicized battle with Quake in 1972, Quisp proliferated while Quake was sent back to outer space. Supplies dwindled in the 70's and 80's (possibly due to disco), but gradually returned in limited production in 1987. Pour yourself a bowl and enjoy!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A Blast of Quazy Energy!
As an avid collector of cereals from my past, that are still being produced today, I was delighted to find Quisp on Amazon. Quisp, in my opinion is the best! The cereal tastes great and the box with character art by Jay Ward is a delight to have on the table or anywhere in the house for that matter. I have a whole disply in my studio that I was lucky enough to procure from a local grocery store. I intend to continue buying quisp and saving the boxes till the disply is filled! For fathers day my boys will be serving me a big bowl and hopefully that quazy energy will last the whole day!

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - A blast (of sugar) from the past.
Quisp is 3'1" tall, 43 pounds (on Earth) and hails from the Planet Q. Quisp, the cereal, was launched by Quaker Oats in 1965. The creation of animator Jay Ward (Rocky & Bullwinkle), Quisp and his nemesis Quake went head-to-head to determine which was spokesperson for the superior cereal brand. In 1970, Quisp won the battle. Quake went back underground (he was portrayed as a miner). Quake got a makeover, ditching his mining helmet for an Austrailian style brim and fronting the new cereal Quangaroos. Quisp eventually won that battle as well.

Due to low sales, Quisp was discontinued several years later only to return in the 1990's as the "first internet cereal", being sold directly through Quaker's website. The brand has made it's way back to the shelves of some discount stores in the northeast, but for the majority of us it's still only available on the internet.

As for the cereal itself, it's in the Cap'n Crunch vein of sugar, sugar and more sugar. Nothing spectacular. But if you want to relive your childhood, or give someone a gag gift for their 50th birthday, this may be just the ticket.
