Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Cool Camera
I love the look of this ruby red camera. The 3" LCD screen is decent size (much larger than my previous cameras) and great for previewing. The photo and video quality is exceptional. The anti-shake AE is much much better than my previous camera. Actually, I have absolutely no problem in that area. There are some other really great options for this camera, but I have the finish reading the manual to take full advantage of that.

My only dissapointment was that just after about 3 days of using this camera, the LCD screen began to give problems. There were lines and different colors going through the display which is really distracting when you need to preview your photos or videos. The quality when eventually uploaded is great, but I hate that the screen is bad.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - nikon coolpix l18 8mp 3x zoom
pros:
-Like the color options which make it stand out from the normal silver cameras that are out.
-good picture quality for the price.
-uses AA batteries, but batteries last about 2-3 days.
-uses normal SD card for memory
-can zoom in during video recording

cons:
-very light, doesn't feel very durable? plastic body?
-excruciatingly slow reaction time.
-interface takes some getting used to

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - EXCELLENT CAMERA!! EXCELLENT PRICE!!
This is the 10th Nikon camera I've purchased this year. I own two myself. The others I've purchased for friends. Nikon's "L" series cameras are ultra-easy to use, are feature-packed and have a HUGE LCD screen. My $250 Coolpix s50c has the same screen. I would suggest this camera (or any others in the "L" series line, including the Coolpix) to anyone who wants great pictures and all the cool features for a really low price.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Good Camera; Worthless software included
I like this camera a lot. Good speed and image quality for the value. After seeing the Canon A580 I think I may have purchased that one, but I was looking for something very user friendly for my wife, so this works fine. The one feature that I find oddly cool is the "Panorama Assist", which helps to create good panoramic images. Basically, after you take the first picture, it keeps part of the picture on the screen while you look live at your target which allows you to line up the next shot...Really cool, and a smart feature. (it may have been around for a while, but I'm a Canon user) :)

My only issue is with the terrible software included. There is no editing software included....who does that?? It includes a panorama maker and a transfer software, and quicktime...because that's supposed to be helpful or something....

The "Nikon Transfer" software...first, its ugly...looks like something a teen developer made. No style to it, but it doesn't do anything worthwhile besides a bridge (that didn't work until several restarts later) to download the stuff. [...]

And to edit, get a free Adobe Photoshop online account to store and edit your pics.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - It is what it is
Likes:
-- Easy to use menus
-- Large LCD screen
-- Is ready to shoot as soon as you hit the power button
-- Uses AA batteries
-- Slim size

Dislikes
-- Picture qualify leaves something to be desired. Inside shots are always too dark. Have tried numerous test shots in all different modes and still can't get pictures as good as my 5 year old Olympus C740 3MP.
-- Pictures on the LCD screen look great, but look below average once downloaded to my computer. I have to do a lot of editing on the photos I want to keep to make them look acceptable.

Conclusion: This is a fine camera if you are an average consumer who just likes to have a camera with you at all times to "catch a moment" and want something a little better than your camera phone. If you are more serious about your photos, I would go with something else. I give it 3 stars base on design and ease of use.
