Editorial Review:

Description:
From legendary director Danny Boyle (Trainspotting, 28 Days Later) comes ?a family film of limitless imagination and surprising joy!? (Chicago Sun-Times)

It?s holiday season and seven-year-old Damian believes he?s received a divine gift from above when a suitcase filled with cash literally falls out of the sky. Damian is anxious to share the wealth with those less fortunate while his fun-loving brother Anthony would rather spend it like there?s no tomorrow! But when the loot turns out to be stolen, both the boys? plans are put to the test?with heartwarming and hilarious results.

Amazon.com:
Millions wears its heart on its sleeve, and it wears it well. Two boys, still grieving the death of their mother, find themselves the unwitting benefactors of a bag of bank robbery loot in the week before the United Kingdom switches its official currency to the Euro. What's a kid to do? Director Danny Boyle takes a simple premise and, with the help of Frank Cottrell Boyce's sweet, smart script, finds something special to say about the hopes everyone has for the future of a changing world. Brothers Anthony and Damian have vastly different agendas for the stash, and then have to deal not only with the money's original thief but with the disarming woman who seems to be stealing their widowed father. The film is full of quirks that work--seven-year-old Damian (an endearing Alex Etel) has private conversations with a collection of eclectic religious saints--and a technically spirited way of commingling both the scary realities and fanciful imaginings of young minds. --Steve Wiecking

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Delightful movie
Thoroughly enjoyable family movie. No violence, sex or profanity. Hallelujah!! The young boy was refreshing. The movie industry needs to make more of these kinds of pictures. My wife and I and our friends are in our 70's and have seen more than our share of badly made and acted movies with no plots other than shock, gore, violence and foul language. Kudos to the makers of this film.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - See this movie!
I fell in love with Damian Cunningham. He is the dear sweet little boy we all want for our own. I bought the DVD, then I bought the book. I will enjoy them both over and over.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The Best Movie You Never Saw
This was nothing short of brilliant film-making. It's a little on the family/feel-good side of things, but with enough to keep your attention if you wanted to watch it with a friend. Great acting all around and a fantastic soundtrack.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Sweet but not Sickly
My wife and I loved this little film. The Amazon critic and others have pretty much summed up the plot and story so I'm not going to rehash those points. I'll just add that it is beautifully shot and all of the kids in this film know how to act without being corny. Quite honestly, this film left me wishing I could be young and unblemished by the world again. It reminded me of who I once was before I reached middle age with all of its accompanying disappointments and cynicism. This film is sweet without being "goopy" or sickly. I believe it will leave you thinking about who you could be once again. Buy it or at the very least put it on your Netflix list.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Millions, worth the money
As an adult we sometimes forget how delightful childhood can be. This movie will awaken some of those emotions for adults and enlighten kids. This is a great family movie. It deals with what would you do if you found a bag of money, lots of money. When a small boy has his cardboard playhouse smashed by a large bag of money that fell off a train, he thinks it's from heaven. He wants to give it all away to the needy, and the saints that visit him, in his head, agree. Meanwhile his brother is figuring out ways to spend it that will make him popular and satisfy any urges. When they find out the money has been robbed and one of the robbers is trailing them they start to panic. What transpires next is interesting to say the least. This was alot of fun to watch and I recommend it if you enjoy foreign family movies like "The Secret of Roan Inish" or "Waking Ned Devine". What I enjoy about movies like this is they lead to family discussions of right and wrong. This movie doesn't condone wrong, it just shows how some people might take the wrong path sometimes if they don't have the right guidance. Great quality DVD with plenty of replayability.
