Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Not good enough for the cost
There's nothing particularly wrong with Merkur blades, but they don't provide enough of a positive difference over the competition to be worth the extra cost. These are very basic razor blades, selling on Amazon for between $.50 - $.75 per blade. You can get Derbys for $.20 (100-pack for $20, with Amazon's free shipping), or get a pack of generic blades from Walgreen's, Wal-Mart, or any local pharmacy (almost all generic brand blades in the US are made by the American Safety Razor Company, and are surprisingly effective) for between $.15 (Wal-Mart) and $.35 (Walgreens) a blade. And if it's quality you're after, you should be using Feather or Swedish Gillettes. I have used Merkur, and they provide a fine shave, but there are cheaper solutions that do as good of a job.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great blades at a good price!
I love the blades from Merkur , I have been using them now for about 2 1/2 years and I won't switch back to any other for nothing. When I need more I go to Amazon and I am back in business.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great Quality and Value
These blades last me for a week (7 shavings) and perform very well. At less than 50 cents each - you can't beat them. The DE blades I find at my local drug store are actually more expensive than these. Order online in quantity and save gas and time.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - In My Opinion. Not the Best.
I've been using a DE razor for awhile now. Love it! Would not go back to those expensive new safety razors if you paid me.

I have used both these Merkur blades and Feather blades which are made in Japan.

The Feather blades out preform the Merkur blades hands down. They are sharper, last longer, and I just can not find a fault with the Feathers. My beard is not real tough, but is I guess a little above average. Even with 2 days of growth and a blade that had at least 3 shaves on it. I was able to smoothly get the results I have come to expect.

When I bought my first DE razor, it came with a Merkur, because I had bought a Merkur razor (which I LOVE!). I bought an extra pack, and was not impressed. I then purchased a pack of the Feather blades and have not looked back.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Blades of Glory
You could buy 1 and half of these and be good for a years shaving, I think that says it all, the blades are very sharp but just take a little adjustment, very simple, very effective.

Alienware's flagship gaming laptop, the Area-51 m9750, has plenty of appeal for high-end gamers, but the alien head aesthetic seems dated, and newer components are right around the corner.
