Or have you ever questioned what exactly goes on inside the creative minds of beauty industry heavy-hitters? Step into the pages of Sephora, where the top beauty authorities give you access to their private domains. Spend the day with Vincent Longo backstage at fashion week, create red carpet—worthy hair with celebrity hair stylist Oscar Blandi, master the smoky eye with Hollywood's hottest makeup artists, and take a tour of Dr. Nicholas Perricone's kitchen with his refrigerator full of skin-perfecting foods.

In Sephora: The Ultimate Guide to Makeup, Skin, and Hair from the Beauty Authority, fashion and beauty journalist and former Sephora beauty editor Melissa Schweiger personally introduces the people behind some of your favorite brands and fills this gorgeous book with the beauty secrets usually reserved for insiders. Each photo-packed page brims with words of wisdom and expert advice from the creators of and authorities on more than two hundred classic and emerging beauty brands sold at Sephora, including LORAC, Smashbox, Too Faced, Dr. Perricone, Frédéric Fekkai, and many, many more.

Each chapter is designed to mimic a Sephora store's 'try everything' vibe while revealing the finest beauty tips and tricks for getting creative with cosmetics. Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Just a big catalog for their products! You won't learn anything!
I bought this book because I am such a fan of the stores and website and was SO disappointed and really feel cheated. This is nothing more than a hardcover book for the products they sell with some make-up tips thrown in and you probably know most of them. The one mention of applying eyeshadow doesn't even have close-up pictures so you can really see what they are doing. And for the kicker, there is a big section just on the founders of the all the make-up companies who sell their products at Sephora-what a waste!! Don't spend your money on this-you can surf their web site for free.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Fun to look at, nothing truly helpful
I goes over a VERY basic overview of products and how to use them. Don't look for anything about skin tone variations or what suits you best, its simply a book on all the products they sell and bios on a few of the creators. It isn't bad just if you are looking for a tutorial book, there are better ones out there.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Disapointed
Very disapointed in this book..it is more like a catalog of advertising their products..you can learn way more tips visiting the store...instead of buying the book..go to store and spend your money

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Beautifully photographed...that's it
I bought this book expecting to find new make up tricks, the ultimate products for skin care and top professional advices, combine with some basic info as an orientation to newcomers, but besides the stunning photos (with no credit about who the make up artists, models and photographers are) the info is not as interesting as depicted in the promotion and it looks to me more like a catalog than a beauty and make up book...only the prices were missing...

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Good but not as wonderful as the store itself!!!
This book contains general make up tips and plenty of product recommendations. The book is visually appealing with plenty of large pictures and product photos. I am a cosmetics addict who can spend plenty of time in Sephora so I found this book interesting but not full of any new make up tips or ideas.
