Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Convenient way to organize your electronic devices
We have a lot of gadgets to charge (3 IPODS, Blackberry, Nintendo DS, and 2 cellular phones). Our main items are placed into this valet allowing us to have a tidy method of hiding the cords within the body of this unit. A small drawer is convenient to put my keys and pager away.

The outlet strip allows for 6 items and there is a small notch to allow the cords to be exposed for easy access. The workaround for plugging multiple cords is to use a cord extender so that bulky plugs do not have to take up 2 spaces on the 6 outlet strip.Power Strip Liberator (5 Pack) Extension Cords

The finish is good for the purposes of its functionality. Construction is solid. For the price, it's a good value.

Get one for yourself, your friends and your relatives.

VERDICT:

Highly recommend.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - handy piece to own
I bought this for my new son-in-law, since it was still on the wedding registry (so I figured he'd still want it). He loves this little valet charger and says its very handy.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - My wife likes it more than I do....
The charging valet has helped me with my age old problem of finding my keys. They are now always located on the charging valet, next to my wallet, watch, and cell phone. It is very convenient to have one station that keeps everything together. In fact, my wife likes it more than I do since it forces me to be a bit more organized and have all of my stuff stored neatly on the valet.

The drawer on the valet is not overly large - about 1 1/2" high by 10" wide and 8" deep, but it is big enough for me to store my shoe horn, collar picks, and extra chapsticks - these are items that I previously stored in various places throughout the bed room. Now I always know exactly where to look for all of my items.

The Charging Valet has a nice designer look and does not look cheap. In fact, it kind of reminds me of a mail jewelry box...only manly-er.

Pros-

- Comes with a hide away power strip
- Fits in with many decors
- Well designed to maximize space but eliminate your ability to make it look "Cluttered".

Areas of improvement -

- The power strip does not fit in the spot it is designed for.
- When you need to remove your charger (such as your phone charger for travel) it can be a bit clumsy and cause things to start falling off. However, this is a pretty minor point.

Final verdict, the Charging Valet has help to make my life a little more organized and that has made both me and my wife that much happier.

4 1/2 stars.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Makes a great gift!
I bought this for my husband for his birthday, and he LOVES it! It is not too big for his bureau and he can fit alot into it. The price is right too!!

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Docking station
Well, it was broken when we opened but it was an easy fix. It also lacked the knob that was shown in the picture. It looks very attractive and makes my husband's corner of the kitchen look neat and organized. It keeps all the cords for phones and blackberry organized and hidden. I am very pleased with the purchase.

Sales of semiconductors in November indicate that consumer products such as LCD (liquid crystal display) TVs, digital music players, and other devices sold well during the holidays, the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) said Monday.

November chip sales rose 2.3 percent year-on-year to $23.1 billion, the SIA said.

Unit demand has far outpaced last year. But falling chip prices have hurt industry revenue, the chip association said. For example, DRAM (dynamic RAM) bit shipments grew 25 percent in the three months through mid-December, but average selling prices have declined 20 percent over the same period.

The association also noted that rising energy prices and concerns about the sub-prime lending issue in the U.S. do not appear to have had a significant impact on consumer spending for the holidays, the SIA said. The group reiterated its forecast that worldwide semiconductor sales will reach a new record in 2007. But it will take a stronger than expected December selling season to reach the 3.8 percent growth goal the group had forecast earlier this year, the SIA said.

Investment banking firm Credit Suisse was not as optimistic as the SIA.

The November data was below normal seasonal trends, noted analyst John Pitzer, in a report on Monday. Even if December reaches its normal seasonal growth, 2007 industry revenue will only reach $255.7 billion, up 3.2 percent over last year. The growth percentage would fall short of the SIA's 3.8 percent target.

The slow November prompted Credit Suisse to lower its 2008 chip industry revenue forecast to 9.4 percent year-on-year growth, down from a previous target of 13 percent.
