Though best known for cameras, copiers and micrographic products, Minolta has an impressive record of technological innovation in several fields. Its quality products range from binoculars to the world's most advanced planetariums, from photographic exposure meters to radiometric instruments used for a variety of light and measurement purposes, and from office copiers to sophisticated computer-based digital information and imaging systems. Minolta offers a simple but nevertheless necessary accessory - RC-1000s Remote Cable. It allows easy and convenient operation of Minolta Dimage RD-175 camera.
Amazon.com Product Description:The Konica Minolta RC-1000S Remote Cord for Digital Cameras provides remote control of the shutter release from a hidden location or apart from the camera to prevent blurring from camera shake. This comes in handy when taking pictures of subjects that are difficult to approach, or when you need to minimize vibration for close-ups and time exposure. This 1.6-foot (50-centimeter) cable also provides remote autofocus control and long exposures in 'B.'
Note: Please refer to your Konica Minolta digital camera manual for compatibility.

Works perfectly.
A nifty add-on for your KM camera. Eliminates camera shake and can be locked open for Bulb exposures. Also fits the camera better than generic versions

It works
Greetings to the truly bored. The remote plugs into the camera firmly ( using a KM "A2" ). There seems a slight delay ( latency? ) in my expectation of when the shutter will fire and when it does fire. The "lock" position I have not found a use for yet but will reflect on the possible uses of "lock", I suppose for long exposure of which I have done none to date.
