Product Description:
The Minolta autofocus lens system is one of the world's most complete lens systems, covering every kind of lens from wide-angle, telephoto, and wide-range zooms to large-aperture, reflex, and soft focus types. Only Minolta AF lenses are expressly made to link perfectly with your Minolta AF SLR. Every AF lens locks into your Minolta camera to form an integrated unit that allows focus and exposure data to flow from the lens' read-only memory (ROM) integrated circuit to the camera's central processing unit. Each AF lens is a product of Minolta's advanced computer-assisted optical design. Minolta is one of the few camera makers who insist on making Minolta's own optical glass. The uncompromising quality control in every aspect of the lens-making craft assures you of the finest performance. If you're ready to dramatically expand your photography, experience the Minolta AF lens system. Minolta is one of the few major camera manufacturers in the world who make their very own lenses. When used with manual-focusing Minolta X-Series SLR cameras, these lenses offer unmatched accuracy, color rendition, and performance. Minolta manufacturers each lens, including the optical glass, with the utmost dedication to quality and precision. Amazon.com Product Description:
The Minolta Maxxum AF 24-105mm f3.5 to f4.5 D series zoom lens provides excellent focusing operation and high-quality image results throughout the zooming range. Its aspheric lenses help correct spherical aberration and reduce sagittal flare and coma. The large, petal-type lens hood shields the lens from extraneous light. The unique Minolta circular aperture diaphragm is designed for more natural-looking backgrounds at wider apertures. In combination with the Maxxum 7 camera, the built-in distance encoder on this lens supports highly accurate ADI (Advance Distance Integration) flash metering by providing precise distance information.

The Maxxum AF lens series is designed to offer superb operation for both auto and manual focusing. During autofocusing, photographers can hold the camera in good balance and concentrate on framing, thanks to Minolta's Auto Clutch mechanism, which does not rotate the focusing ring during AF drive. In manual focusing, the wide ring rotates smoothly and is easy to control. The overall result is a supercompact lens that produces high-quality images throughout its zooming range.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Excellent walk-around lens
This lens give good shapness and versatility on my KM Maxxum 7D. Not as fast as the 28-75/2.8 but the extra 'length' 105 over 75 is very nice to have. Would recommend this lens.
