Rating: - Familiar tunes that are easy to listen to
Let's get one thing straight right away. This cd set is by the London Pops, NOT the original artists. It is clearly labeled as the London Pops, so this is NOT a cheap attempt at a rip off. Just keep that in mind.

That being said, even the most die hard rock and roll fan likes some soft music once in a while, elevator music if you will. This album will provide that with the London Pops typical professional style as they present three decades of familiar songs. And in many cases the Pops offerings sound very much like the originals, such as "Wonderland By Night". Of course there will always be those listeners who prefer the original artists. Well, how many different versions of "Yesterday" have you heard and liked simply because you like the song? That's what this set gives you, just a different version of familiar hits that you like. The only track that I would have replaced with something else is "Third Man Theme". Being intimately familiar with the original zither sound of Anton Karas, the Pops version just doesn't come close. The rest of the tracks, however, are well performed and nice to listen to. You won't be disappointed.
