Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - 5-Star Shredder
Great shredder. I've used and discarded a couple of others, including an OfficeMax one that cost about as much. This one handles everything, is fairly quite and has never jammed. Nice, big bucket too.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Good Product
Very fast shipment..Koodles.... Product has a powerful motor and shreds what it is stated too. The machine is quiet and the shredding process is slow. The body of the product leaves MUCH to be desired it is made of very cheap plastic creating a very wobbly base, when moved it feels as though it will fall apart. The pull out basket does not stay shut..with the vibration from the shredding it slides open, then the shredder shuts off. I have to hold my foot against it. I would not purchase this product again LEW

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Very Pleased
I finally was fed up with the weak shredder I had for years which was difficult to empty and jammed and clogged. This one is a GREAT improvement. Take those full credit card offers and put the whole thing unopened right into the slot. CDs, credit cards, chop right up. To empty, just pull out the basket and dump, then slid back in. My 1 year pile of "needs to be destroyed" mail was gone by day 2. Fantastic so far.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Powerful but a bit wobbly
Pros: This shredder has a powerful motor. When they say it will shred 12 sheets, they really mean 12 sheets (there's even a little width guide to see if your pack of papers is too thick). Other cheaper shredders I have bought labored so much at their rated # of sheets that I cut back on how many I shredded at a time. With this one you can send an envelope of junk mail right through without opening it.
Cons: The top part is heavy and the bottom part doesn't seem to be strong enough to hold it, especially when the basket is removed. The unit can be wobbled and twisted. It just seems unsteady. I've had it for a month, used it a lot, and this hasn't really caused any problems. I just wonder why they skimped on the bottom when otherwise it is so well made.
Overall I'm happy with it and glad I bought it.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Works Well
Arrived promtply, as described. It does require shredder oil - if you don't have some, get some! Without it, the shredder keeps running after the paper is done. But after a squirt of oil, it stops squealing...just like the tin man.

Sales of semiconductors in November indicate that consumer products such as LCD (liquid crystal display) TVs, digital music players, and other devices sold well during the holidays, the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) said Monday.

November chip sales rose 2.3 percent year-on-year to $23.1 billion, the SIA said.

Unit demand has far outpaced last year. But falling chip prices have hurt industry revenue, the chip association said. For example, DRAM (dynamic RAM) bit shipments grew 25 percent in the three months through mid-December, but average selling prices have declined 20 percent over the same period.

The association also noted that rising energy prices and concerns about the sub-prime lending issue in the U.S. do not appear to have had a significant impact on consumer spending for the holidays, the SIA said. The group reiterated its forecast that worldwide semiconductor sales will reach a new record in 2007. But it will take a stronger than expected December selling season to reach the 3.8 percent growth goal the group had forecast earlier this year, the SIA said.

Investment banking firm Credit Suisse was not as optimistic as the SIA.

The November data was below normal seasonal trends, noted analyst John Pitzer, in a report on Monday. Even if December reaches its normal seasonal growth, 2007 industry revenue will only reach $255.7 billion, up 3.2 percent over last year. The growth percentage would fall short of the SIA's 3.8 percent target.

The slow November prompted Credit Suisse to lower its 2008 chip industry revenue forecast to 9.4 percent year-on-year growth, down from a previous target of 13 percent.
