Editorial Review:

Album Description:
Performer and songwriter Mariah Carey has set April 15th as the in-store date for the most eagerly anticipated album of the year, E=MC². The 11th studio album of her career, E=MC² is the follow-up to The Emancipation Of Mimi, Mariah's worldwide 10 million selling #1 album, which generated three Grammy awards (including Best Contemporary R&B Album), 2 #1 singles and countless more industry honors during its 18-month stay on the charts. The first single from E=MC² is 'Touch My Body,' written and produced by Mariah Carey, C. 'Tricky' Stewart, and The-Dream, and blasting out worldwide on February 12th. The video for 'Touch My Body' was directed by feature filmmaker Brett Ratner - Internet, cable and network premieres for the video will be announced in the weeks ahead. In addition to C. 'Tricky' Stewart and The-Dream, other guest producers joining Mariah on E=MC² will include Jermaine Dupri, DJ Toomp, Stargate, Will I Am, Bryan Michael Cox, Nate 'Danjahandz' Hills and James Poyser.. E=MC² is executive produced by Mariah Carey and Antonio 'LA' Reid, Chairman, Island Def Jam Music Group.

The Emancipation Of Mimi, released April 12, 2005, was an industry phenomenon for the mega-platinum award-winning superstar - Soundscan's biggest-selling album of the year, bringing total sales of Mariah's albums, singles and videos to more than 160 million worldwide, making her the most successful female recording artist in history. Mimi featured 'We Belong Together' (winner of the Best Female R&B Vocal and Best R&B Song Grammys) and 'Don't Forget About Us,' Mariah's 16th and 17th #1 career singles respectively. They tied one of the most enduring chart records in Billboard Hot 100 history, Elvis Presley's 17 #1's. Mariah is now positioned as the only active recording artist in the 48 years of the Hot 100 (which began in 1958) with the potential to surpass the Beatles' all-time high of 20 #1 hits.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - I liked the "Emancipation of Mimi" better
It's no secret that Mariah has God-given, heaven sent ,angelic talent that most of us 9 to 5'ers could only imagine having! She's a musical and lyrical genius, however on her latest effort, E=MC2, I was not as impressed as her last album, The Emancipation of Mimi. On E=MC2, most of the tracks are a testament to the Mariah Carey we all know, hip hop/reggae sounding joints with Damian Marley, Young Jeezy and the overused, yet underrated hip hop/rap mega collaborator, T-Pain. However, it's very rare that when Mariah drops a CD I only like 2 songs on the whole entire album. Unfortunately, my most favored songs are the current hit single, "Touch My Body" and the very melodic, yet catchy, "I'll be Loving You Long Time". This is only my opinion, however, I pre-ordered her CD and was disappointed in it's delivery of the style, lyrical magic, and super talent that Mariah is known for bringing to every CD she produces. It's no doubt the CD will go platinum (if it hasn't already) because she's Mariah - a legend of pure talent and true wisdom of her craft, however E=MC2 does not make the cut for me personally. I am still wondering why for her album release, they had the cover of her album lit up on the Empire State Building?! It would have made more sense to give the previous album that kind of attention, since the skill, time and genuine effort truly went into the "Emancipation of Mimi", instead of E=MC2. Again, this is my opinion - listen for yourself - you might get a different vibe - as for me, I'm still wondering what the E is supposed to equal on her latest release E=MC2 - I wish it stood for "Excellence" but I wouldn't say so for this release.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Holy smoke!!
This album is off the flibbity charts awesome. How? Let me tell you. First the title. When I think of physics and formulas, I think of Mariah Carey. The fact her name has a lot of the same letters as Marie Curie is no coincidence. Mariah is really smart. The songs are cool and talk about love and her body. Those are two things I could put together. I think Mariahs breasts have grown over the years. I just thought I would add that. It doesn't make her music different, but her videos are really cool. The one thing this thing is missing is her really high cackling sounds she used to make more often. She still does it some, but it's not like when she sang "emotion" back in the day. Back then, I fronted a Cameo cover band called Slaugefunger. That's german for freakin awesome. We played Word Up and Oh Sheila all of the time. Burns would play a keyboard solo and then sit on a sit and spin for like an hour. When he finally hurled, we collected bids on it and gave the money to North Omaha. We were great and I still am. Burns is awfully cool too.

Get this CD and you'll want the special at Chachi's steak and pudding.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - She needs to Follow Layrns Hills Footsteps
since the 90's Mariah been the QUEEN of R&B then entering the 2G she sucked big time then became the Queen again in 05-06 but this one is a weak album I expected a true R&B singer to sing not wanna be Beyonce she should follow Laryn Hill Footsteps R&B & Rap without Killing the Genre

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - ADDICTED TO E=MC2
I love waking to the festive and jolly sound of this album in the morning. My favorite tracks are: Migrate, Cruise Control, Side Effects, I'm That Chick, I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time, Thanx 4 Nothin', O.O.C., For The Record, Bye Bye.

This is a must-have album in your collection, everyone! You can listen to it and have your own opinion WITHOUT BEING INFLUENCED BY ANY HATER OR VANDAL.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Loser
I do's it naturally? What in the hell? Why is she trying to dumb herself down? You are a total embarrassing mess. Here's a clue, read a book and put some clothes on. Your music sucks.
