Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Live Concert DvD's???
Must transfer this L.I. Concert on to DvD....and why isn't there more of a selection of Billy Joel "Live" Concert DvD's...?????

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - It's a crime this is not on DVD
I was 13 years old in 1983 and only kind of knew who Billy Joel was. But, that same summer Billy Joel Live at Long Island was broadcast on HBO and the rest is history. I remember watching this with my Dad and becoming an instant fan. This video had an enormous effect on me. I immediately went out and bought every "record" I could find by Billy Joel. I am a HUGE Billy fan and have seen him 11 times in concert (even met him once!) and this is pretty accurate of one of his shows. I do have this concert on VHS so I have to keep a VCR around so I can relive "the good old days" when I am feeling nostalgic. This concert is the sole reason for making me the devoted Billly Joel fan I am today. When people have asked me what made me such a Billy Joel fanatic I have ALWAYS sited this concert video as the reason. Even 24 years later he is still my favorite musician. I would love nothing more than to own this on DVD. Please release this on DVD soon. It is just crazy this is not available in that format.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Wish for DVD
I was a nightclub owner who converted to full music video format in our 5 discos (which seated 1,000 to 3,000), back in 1981 and subsequently had MTV host their original launch parties in the various markets that we had nightclubs because of our dedication to the video format. As such, I was always looking for exceptional video content. When this came out on VHS, it was one of the best live performances of a "then contemporary" artist. The camera work, choice of songs, and Joel's impeccable and energized delivery were cream of the crop. We often played the cuts from this live performance to pack the dance floor, instead of the music videos that were released. Patrons constantly requested the "Live from Long Island" video footage and sound for the dance floor action. The quality was superb and we had no qualms about running the VHS sound instead of vinyl (yes that's right...no CD's back then and our DJs would never have been able to beat-mix CDs anyway). I still have this VHS in my library at home and certainly wish the label would release it on DVD, which I would buy in a heartbeat. In fact, of all the music video concert footage that was released in the early to mid 80's, we bought everything that came out. This one ranks number one without question.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A great show! Should be on DVD!
This concert shows Billy at his peak, in my opnion. Great songs and a brilliant perfomance! My dad had this on laserdisc and, every now and then, the whole family would sit down, pop some popcorn, crank up the volume and watch this together. It was the only music that the whole family could agree on! It's one of best memories of my youth. I sure wish I could relive the experience now on DVD!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great but where is the DVD!!!???
PLEASE RELEASE THIS ON DVD!!!! I don't even own a VHS player any longer.
