Daily Variety
Delivery has been reasonably good - a couple of missed days here and there.
It appears to do the job it's supposed to do. Some days though it's almost as
if nothing has really happened and they're stretching to fill it.

Great pub, bad delivery
Delivered to the studio by "Special Hand Delivery" - which means the deilvery driver slowed down slightly before he opened his passenger door and rolled the bundle out into the gutter like a fresh corpse from a mob hit.

Insane!
Yes, Variety is great. That's a given. It's the gold standard in entertainment industry reporting.
But this price is insane. I get "special renewal prices" from Variety at $259. I read the Amazon listing 10 times to make sure I understood it right. I was sure that this was for half a hear or for weekly Variety, but it's not. It's the full 252 issue subscription. Amazon's price is amazing. I don't mean to sound like a commercial, but I love a good deal!
And, of coarse, Variety is a must for anyone in, or wanting into, the entertainment business. Thanks to Amazon, it's also affordable.

Entertainment Industry Savvy
If I had to pick one of the best magazines specializing in the entertainment industry, specifically the film and television industry, it is Daily Variety.
There is always breaking legitimate news with respect to casting, executive position changes, new film releases, special screenings, you name it, and it's in this magazine. If you love this industry, this is the magazine that lets you know what's happening, fast!

Essential reading
Everyone who's serious about show business reads Daily Variety. It is the trade paper you find on every agent's and every producer's and every studio executive's desk. As a writer, you might possibly not need it, but if you're at all interested in the workings of the industry, you need a subscription.
