Do NOT buy this
I bought the first one at Circuit City, didn't work out of the box. The unit kept freezing and becoming unresponsive when interacting with it through the web interface. It seems as if DLINK had a HUGE batch of defective units because of the other comments on here and also because when I called tech support they decided I needed an RMA in about 5 seconds. They basically just took the serial number and said that the unit needed to be replaced. So I shipped it back on my dime and they sent me a refurbished replacement. The setup manual of the replacement contained the desperate notes of another poor sap trying unsuccessfully to get his defective product to work over what must have been hours of telephone support sessions. Of course, it was also DOA. I called tech support and got disconnecting several times. I threw the unit in the garbage.

Good Product - Inadequate Documentation and Help
Hardware setup and wired initialization was quick and simple, with no problems. I encountered a problem with the wireless setup and the documentation was woefully inadequate. I called their Help line and it was worse than the documentation - the techs knew less about the product than I did and were merely following a simple script - is it plugged in, etc. After 10 minutes following his script with no success, I was left on hold for almost 10 minutes - I hung up and tried again with another tech, same script - I asked to be transfered to a higher level of support, also no help. Finally called a network knowledgable friend who solved the problem. The unit now works fine, and adding printers was simple. I would have given this unit 5 stars if not for the inadequate setup help. I recommend this product, but only for those with wireless networking knowledge, or access to wireless help other than D-Link.

Average operation no communication from printers for ink status
Server functions ok for printing but the bi-directional communications doesn't work. It intermittantly drops off line and you have to reset the unit, not really realible.

Almost perfect...
After reading alot of the reviews, I decided to take a chance on this product. I'm using it under the following conditions: 3 floor house, plaster/metal lathe walls, wood stud framing; existing D-Link DI-524 router WPA-PSK/TKIP encrypted network; one XP and one Vista Home laptop; Canon i9100 printer (listed compatible); HP Deskjet D1400 printer (not listed compatible).
The router is on the middle (ground level) floor. I was concerned since the print server needed to go in the area with the poorest signal a corner of the upper floor with some tricky wall angles, as that's where the printers are. In the old configuration, I would connect the printers to the XP laptop via USB hub and print directly from it, or print wirelessly through it from the Vista laptop.
The DPR-1260 basically set itself up from the XP laptop. I didn't need the installation disk. I logged on to my network easily. Both printers were immediately recognized. I can now print wirelessly from the opposite side of the house, 2 floors down. The only thing that keeps me from giving this 5-stars is that sometimes I need to reboot the XP laptop to see the server. This is usually after I've closed the lid for hibernation, which is how I typically work, not shutting down each time throughout the day. But, I can't say if this is the server, the laptop or XP. I'm not the Vista laptop user, and the server seems to be visible whenever it's needed.
For me, this was a great purchase (especially with the rebate) and it's made our home computing much more convenient. I'm even starting to look around for a network-ready harddrive, as the DPR-1260 will accept one of these.

Garbage
I didn't buy from Amazon.com, which wouldn't be better, because the D-Link customer department is a Joke.
The DPR-1260 didn't work properly for months, I tried to reach the technical support, but they were unable to solve the problem, and return or change the item.
I will never buy anything from D-Link.
DON'T BUY IT !
