Editorial Review:Description:Packed with even more intense thrills than audiences experienced in theaters, this unrated version of Wes Craven's CURSED brings you the terror of werewolves as never before! Christina Ricci (MONSTER), Jesse Eisenberg (THE VILLAGE), Joshua Jackson (TV's DAWSON'S CREEK), Judy Greer (THE VILLAGE), and Milo Ventimiglia (TV's GILMORE GIRLS) find themselves caught up in an unimaginable horror! A werewolf loose in Los Angeles changes the lives of three young adults who, after being mauled by the beast, learn that the only way to break the curse put upon them is to kill the one who started it all! From the creators of SCREAM, this never-before-seen version is shockingly more frightening and undeniably more fun than the original release!
Amazon.com:When you consider its unfortunate production history,
Cursed turned out surprisingly well as a werewolf thriller that horror buffs will appreciate. It's hardly the disaster critics made it out to be, but extensive rewriting, reshooting, recasting, and lengthy delays in production and release (including the elimination of R-rated gore to earn a PG-13 rating) clearly took their toll. The result is a fun but flawed monster-show that begins when a young talk-show producer (Christina Ricci) and her teenaged brother (Jesse Eisenberg) are bitten by a werewolf, setting the stage for a horror-in-Hollywood scenario that reunites director Wes Craven and screenwriter Kevin Williamson, creators of the
Scream franchise. What could have been a classic horror comedy is instead a fairly solid, if unremarkable, exercise in Los Angeles lycanthropy, featuring werewolf makeup by Rick Baker (combined with CGI transformation effects, of course) and some of Williamson's snappy dialogue and trademark pop-culture references. The title of
Cursed doubles as a description of this movie's ultimate fate, but in a market filled with straight-to-video horror fodder, it's anything but a lost cause. The supporting cast includes Shannon Elizabeth, Portia de Rossi and Joshua Jackson, so genre aficionados should definitely check it out.

Not even a bit scary
Cursed is not even slightly scary. This movie is about 2 siblings that are looking for the werewolf that bit them. The movie is full of CGIs that look like the came straight out of Scooby Doo (the movie). It's just bad, not even a bit entertaining. This is not the kind of movie I expect from Wes Craven. Scooby Doo was scarier than this.

Cursed
Reasonably entertaining movie about two teens being bitten by a werewolve and going through denial, then discovery, and then acceptance. Overall although no particular surprises, I found it engaging enough to stick with it till the end. If you enjoy vampire and werewolve movies you will probably find it worth at least a rental. It has a decent mix of horror with a little comedy that adds to the experience. The acting and directing is decent and the sets and camera work are good. If you enjoyed this catch "Scary Movie", "Arachnophobia" and "The Frighteners". - C. Luster

Nothing special.
A TV producer and her teenage brother are bitten by a werewolf after a car accident and have to kill the werewolf to break the curse and prevent themselves from becoming werewolves also. An okay horror flick from Wes Craven that features many familiar faces (Milo Ventimiglia, Christina Ricci, Joshua Jackson, Michael Rosenbaum and the R&B singer Mya) but is nonetheless nothing special. Wes Craven has made better.

Awful Awful Awful
This movie is a complete piece of crap. Actually no, that's offensive to pieces of crap. This movie is the junk that gets stuck to pieces of crap.
I only watched this because it's Wes Craven, and I'm a fan of monster movies in general. Well, I'm not a fan of this one. In fact, it is the worst Wes Craven movie I've seen, and also the worst werewolf movie I've seen. Let's put it this way: Teen Wolf is scarier than this movie, and The Howling is funnier. That's all you really need in order to understand how dreadful Cursed is. It has zero laughs and zero scares. And for a supposed comedy/horror, that's how you spell disaster.
