Amazon.com Product Description:
Small enough to fit in the palm of your hand but loaded with features, the Coby MP-C885 MP3 player lets you listen to your favorite tunes on the bus, at the park, and just about anywhere else. The device measures a mere 3.58 by 1.1 by 0.75 inches (W x H x D), with a removable end cap that reveals a direct USB plug for connecting to a computer (no cable required). More significantly, the MP-C885 offers 1 GB of integrated flash memory, so you can store roughly 16 hours of MP3 music or 32 hours of WMA music--more than enough for a marathon training run or a cross-country flight. And for those occasions when you need to transport data rather than music, the MP- C885 can handle that, too, with the ability to store JPEG photos, text documents, and more. The mobile storage function is ideal for transporting business documents across the country or serving as an overflow backup for your digital camera's memory card.

It's easy to navigate through the audio player's contents thanks to the high-contrast LCD display, which displays the song title and artist information. And as with the best MP3 players, the MP-C885 offers a number of handy extras, such as a built-in digital FM tuner, support for Windows Media DRM-10 online subscription services, ID3 and LRC support for song and synchronized lyric information display, and a high-speed USB 2.0 interface (up to 40x faster than USB 1.0). The MP-C885, which runs on a single AAA battery (included), works with Windows 98 SE, Me, 2000, and XP and Mac OS X operating systems and carries a 90-day warranty.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - works great
Got everything I expected. Lots of storage space for music, easy to setup and get going, and easy to swith back and forth from MP3s to FM tuner. There's also a bunch of other menu features that I haven't even looked into yet.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Coby 1GB mp3
Works fine. Great options. No problem with Windows Media (older version or newer version) player like some people have said in their reviews.

It makes me wonder if some people had the player locked (i.e. there is a locking function which disables the sync) when trying to sync. Initially this happened to me, unknowingly, but I was able to diagnose the situation. The problems people describe about it not syncing is similar to what was happening to me when I unknowingly had the lock button in the locked position.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - stinks
for some odd reason about once every two weeks or so the mp3 player goes on the fritz and has to be reformatted. when you reformat it all the music you had on there before gets deleted and you get to download it all over again. joy! and sometimes after you reformat the device the titles and artists appear in chinese instead of english. it's like a free lesson in a foreign language!!! i wasn't expecting much because it was like 20 bucks but i still have to say that it stinks pretty bad.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - WORKS AS INTENDED, NO COMPLAINTS
I've had this for over a year and no problems whatsoever. I didn't have a whole lot of expectations when I purchased it due to the low price (about $30 at Big Lots), but so far so good. I loaded music from my own CDs using Windows media player, no software necessary. I love the fact that you can lock it, so it won't accidentally turn itself on and waste batteries.
Is convenient that it works with one AAA battery, so you won't have to throw away the whole player when the battery stops charging (I'm talking to you iPod Nano - never again!!!)
I have not used the earbuds that came with it, so I cannot comment on that. Nor have I used the radio or recording function, I just use it to play music without carrying around a whole bunch of CDs, so it does work well for its intended purpose.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - well worth the money
i haven't had any problems with this mp3 player thus far and I have had it for about 3 weeks. The battery has yet to die and the volume is just fine. You get what you pay for. It absolutely does its job. The earphones are made a little akwardly, but no major problems other than that.
