Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Best all-around flashlight
I consider myself a flashlight fetishist, although I can't afford to be a connoisseur. I have used quite a few lights over the years, from mag lights to LED lights. I received a Stinger as a gift, which is very nice, but I carry this Coast most of the time because it is plenty bright and much smaller.

Good things about this light: uses normal batteries (3xAAA), is smaller than the palm of my hand (I'm 6'5", YMMV), is very bright and has the red LED. The battery life with alkalines is good, I use it occasionally and change the batteries two or three times a year.

Drawbacks? It's a flood, not a spot - you can't focus the beam. That's never been an actual problem because this thing is so bright. Don't count on the included belt case to hold the light, you'll lose it eventually. Either get a different case or just carry it in a pocket - it is small enough for a loose pocket.

Highly recommended, and well worth the price.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Excellent buy!
I purchased one for use in demolition/renovation work and it held up wonderfully. I have since changed occupations, but still find it to be an essential accessory. I work a 3rd shift job and power outages are a pain with insufficient lighting...
The red LED is handy in cases you just want to glance for something, you won't blind yourself or anyone else...
Buy it and you won't be disappointed. One of the brightest flashlights I've ever used, it's very compact, and the red LED is a surprisingly handy feature.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Great flashlight, less than secure case clip.
The flashlight is well made and especially suitable for aviation because of the single red LED. The red light could be used, however, for any situation when you did't want to trash your night vision. I was able to easily distinguish between the white and red push button switches in the dark because one has a textured surface and the other is smooth. The light comes in a nice black nylon case but the spring clip is a somewhat precarious way to attach the light. I had it clipped to my belt and lost it while I was on my bicycle. I will replace the light but won't attach it to my belt anymore.

On paper, the Mio DigiWalker P550 looks to be an attractive gadget for the mobile professional, combining the capabilities of a PDA and GPS into one device. However, its poor battery life and subpar navigation skills tell a different story.

Though it won't appeal to the masses quite yet, the Nokia N800 Internet Tablet is a nice, portable device for on-the-go Web browsing, and it has some worthy upgrades.

Though it has a few design and performance glitches, the Sony Ericsson W300i is a quality, basic MP3 cell phone.

Diesel vehicles have nearly a 50-percent market share in Europe, thanks to tax incentives and diesel-friendly legislation across the EU. Diesels are so passé there that you can buy a BMW 730d and no one will think it odd that your luxury car burns oil. Pull up in a diesel 7-Series in America and people would leer at you like you've alighted from an amphibious vehicle reeking of saltwater and dead trout.

But now, thanks to the oft-reported combo of newly-raised CAFE standards, not-so-newly-raised gas prices, and the 50-state diesel engine, GM, Ford, and Chrysler are about to dip more than a hesitant toe into the diesel game. Chrysler offers a diesel in the Grand Cherokee, but soon all three automakers will offer diesels in their best-selling lineups of light trucks -- the Dodge Ram 1500 is expected to offer a 50-state diesel after 2009. Light trucks are being used to lead the charge since those buyers stand to gain the most with the least amount of (perceived) sacrifice.

Diesels currently have 3.2-percent of the American market. Some estimates put them at 15-percent by 2015. That's a huge leap, and diesel still has plenty of hurdles. Diesels will come with a cost premium over gasoline-engined cars. That should be easy enough to conquer -- incentives and some quick cost and longevity calculations should convince people of the benefit. The real hurdle is the nagging issue of perception. The plan will probably be to attack that with a price that makes the proposition unbeatable. Said Chrysler's director of environmental affairs, "If it's priced right, we can sell diesel here. Diesel can give you an immediate poke in fuel economy -- 20 to 40 percent. Not many technologies can deliver that today."
