Rating: - Trite At Best
Overall, a pretty vapid and mindless publication. Its amazing how you just stick BEAR on something and people will buy it. You could get a lot of this stuff from Ladies Home Journal and other magazines.

Rating: - A much needed publication
I've been a subscriber since the second issue in 2005. With the Bear community being a minority within a minority, it's hard to find any sort of media with which to relate to. ABL isn't the first magazine for Bear men, but it is the first non-pornographic, lifestyle magazine. The articles are geared toward the masculine gay man, but I've had straight friends and female friends both enjoy the articles about caring for pets, throwing a good house party, etc. ABL is a must for any member of the Bear community and worth a read for anyone with a mind open to learning about a side of the gay community that not everyone is familiar with.
