Amazon.com Product Description:
If you want to enjoy stereo and surround sound to its fullest, it's important to install your speakers at the proper listening height. That's where these Atlantic speaker stands come into play. Each of the two cast-iron stands is adjustable from 27 inches to 48 inches, giving listeners an array of heights from which to choose. Merely install your satellite or surround speaker on the platform and experiment with your favorite music and movies. The stands aren't built for bulk--they support up to 2 pounds each--so users should take care to use them only for lightweight speakers. The hidden-wire design, however, is a definite bonus, as it conceals the unsightly speaker cable within the poles. In addition, the stands' titanium finish adds a sleek touch to a room's décor. The stands measure 10.5 by 50 by 11.75 inches (W x H x D) each, which includes the brawny base, and weigh 11.75 pounds. Atlantic covers the stands with a limited lifetime warranty.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Good Stands
I got these not too long ago for my Infinity rear satellite speakers and they're fine. Not a whole to say about speaker stands..

Pros:
Easy to set up, nice wire concealing, sturdy and heavy

Cons:
The feet are a bit larger than I would think necessary and prohibit them from being placed in tight spots

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great Speaker Stands
Very solid speaker stands. The item is actually not silver but more of a dark patterned grey. The way the stand is built it can fit just about any type of speakers, but if you're not a "handy" person be prepared to call someone that's handy. Came with a lot of screws but non fit my speakers but because of the versatility of it's construction it was very simple to make them fit. I actually mounted very large speakers on them and they mounted just fine and looks absolutely gorgeous. I would recommend them to anyone. Just be prepared to have a drill and do some handy work.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Functional with industrial aesthetic
I'll just echo other posters' comments. These things are highly adjustable, and the bases are shaped and weighted to accommodate a satellite speaker that hangs out in the direction opposite the weighting.

Order these stands only if you're handy; the variety of fittings that come with the stands may not be the right kind for your situation. My wife, for example, had to scrounge some extra washers and extra long screws from a friend, then manually deform the the washers with a hammer to secure our new HK TS 18 satellites to the stands.

The rough-textured, dark gray paint on the stands is OK if you don't need or want to have the stands themselves be stylish furniture. If your sense of style demands it, buy some spray paint that matches your decor and go to town.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Solid Stands
I purchased these stands for Sony Surround Speakers (2lbs). None of the bolts or screws that came with it fit my speakers, I used the double sided tape, and it holds very well. They are solidly built and very sturdy. Definitely a good buy.

Sales of semiconductors in November indicate that consumer products such as LCD (liquid crystal display) TVs, digital music players, and other devices sold well during the holidays, the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) said Monday.

November chip sales rose 2.3 percent year-on-year to $23.1 billion, the SIA said.

Unit demand has far outpaced last year. But falling chip prices have hurt industry revenue, the chip association said. For example, DRAM (dynamic RAM) bit shipments grew 25 percent in the three months through mid-December, but average selling prices have declined 20 percent over the same period.

The association also noted that rising energy prices and concerns about the sub-prime lending issue in the U.S. do not appear to have had a significant impact on consumer spending for the holidays, the SIA said. The group reiterated its forecast that worldwide semiconductor sales will reach a new record in 2007. But it will take a stronger than expected December selling season to reach the 3.8 percent growth goal the group had forecast earlier this year, the SIA said.

Investment banking firm Credit Suisse was not as optimistic as the SIA.

The November data was below normal seasonal trends, noted analyst John Pitzer, in a report on Monday. Even if December reaches its normal seasonal growth, 2007 industry revenue will only reach $255.7 billion, up 3.2 percent over last year. The growth percentage would fall short of the SIA's 3.8 percent target.

The slow November prompted Credit Suisse to lower its 2008 chip industry revenue forecast to 9.4 percent year-on-year growth, down from a previous target of 13 percent.
