Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great Laptop/Netbook! Fast Processor, Lightweight, Clear Screen, and Sleek & Stylish
Just received the Sapphire Acer one this week and I am very satisfied with it. I have used several laptops (one a Dell, another Acer, and a Lenovo) and I love using the Acer One the most for portability and performance. Battery life is fantastic compared to most other laptops; the screen quality is very high and the brightness levels are superior to most.

The keyboard does take some time getting used to, but if you have LARGE fingers, this keyboard may be impossible for you to type quickly and accurately. The keys fit my hand just barely, and my hands are smaller than most hands.

The fingerprint issue is definitely noticeable, so I keep a small cloth with me to wipe them off every few uses. Buy a $8 Neoprene sleeve on Ebay and you wont regret the investment! Fits the Acer one perfectly and is a very nice thickness to protect it from bumps, bruises, and scratches.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - "Greatest Give You've Ever Given Me"
Ok, so that was the quote when I gave this gift...who doesn't want to hear that? This little computer is so pretty in the sapphire blue...great for guys and girls. It is small enough that it is truly portable. I researched a lot before I bought this one and decided on this one because of all the great reviews. It comes with a great price for the specs and beat out the other well known brands in customer satisfaction from what I see.

The main complaint I saw on here was the noisy fan. I didn't notice it much at all. Maybe it's because the one on my Gateway is much louder, but it really didn't seem bad at all.

There is a bit of adjustment getting used to the smaller screen and the slightly smaller keyboard (you may want a mini mouse). However, the LCD is very clear and looks great. The battery life blows me away. I've had 6 laptops (Dell, Gateway, HP, CTX, Toshiba) and none ever even came close to the battery life on this one. That's what I mean when I say battery life combined with the size makes this a truly portable computer. You could throw this in a large purse or a briefcase or bookbag. There are neoprene sleeves and min laptop cases for sale on Amazon thatwould go well with this. We haven't decided yet which we will purchase, but I definitely think one is needed because you will want to tote this around every where you go. Great, great product!!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - One day and already I love it!
One day into my Aspire and I really love it. For starters, the wireless range is so much greater than my old laptop. Formerly, I was having trouble grabbing the signal from upstairs. Now, I have a great connection and all my neighbors'networks are visible too. The weight is amazing, the resolution is fine and it does everything I need. The XP software works just like on the big units. The mousepad is surprisingly easy to use. If you don't like hitting the left button, you can just tap on the pad for the same result.

Drawbacks: My wife thinks everything is too small in the smaller screen. (I wear reading glasses anyway). You only see about 60% of what is visible on a standard laptop, though side-to-side it's the same. The unit has fingerprint marks all over its beautiful little case. But, in my opinion, all of these are minor in comparison with the ease of use and portability of this unit.

In short. It's fun. I'd recommend it.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Excellent Computer for the Price
Positives:
Small, it goes virtually everywhere with me and the 6+ hour battery life allows me to pull it out whenever I need to work or have a minute to surf.
Large HD and a lot of memory for an affordable price.
Clear screen.
Lightweight and compact.
Short boot time. Acer boasts 15 seconds, and I have yet to have it actually boot that quickly, but it is definately up and ready to go in less than 30 seconds.
Short wake up time. Computer is set to automatically hibernate when the screen is closed. It takes a very short time upon "waking up" the computer for it to be up and ready to go again.

Negatives:
I knew it when I bought it, but there is no internal CD drive. I didn't think I would need it, but later purchased an external drive because virtually all software still comes on CD or DVD.
Small screen sometimes makes reading webpages difficult when the webpages are optimized for larger screens.

I am very happy I purchased this computer and would again if I had a choice.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Soooo Cool!
I'm so impressed with this little machine. Quality is great. Battery life is fantastic. I use it all day and charge it at night; getting about 7 hours. Built in wireless worked immediately. I was concerned about the keyboard but not now; no problem typing. I prefer to attach a small usb travel mouse but not absolutely necessary. 160GB drive is more than sufficient. Office 2007, Dreamweaver suite, etc. works great with excellent performance. Very impressive startup time. It draws a crowd when I bring it out at the office. Everyone in the family wants one now!

On paper, the Mio DigiWalker P550 looks to be an attractive gadget for the mobile professional, combining the capabilities of a PDA and GPS into one device. However, its poor battery life and subpar navigation skills tell a different story.

Though it won't appeal to the masses quite yet, the Nokia N800 Internet Tablet is a nice, portable device for on-the-go Web browsing, and it has some worthy upgrades.

Though it has a few design and performance glitches, the Sony Ericsson W300i is a quality, basic MP3 cell phone.

Diesel vehicles have nearly a 50-percent market share in Europe, thanks to tax incentives and diesel-friendly legislation across the EU. Diesels are so passé there that you can buy a BMW 730d and no one will think it odd that your luxury car burns oil. Pull up in a diesel 7-Series in America and people would leer at you like you've alighted from an amphibious vehicle reeking of saltwater and dead trout.

But now, thanks to the oft-reported combo of newly-raised CAFE standards, not-so-newly-raised gas prices, and the 50-state diesel engine, GM, Ford, and Chrysler are about to dip more than a hesitant toe into the diesel game. Chrysler offers a diesel in the Grand Cherokee, but soon all three automakers will offer diesels in their best-selling lineups of light trucks -- the Dodge Ram 1500 is expected to offer a 50-state diesel after 2009. Light trucks are being used to lead the charge since those buyers stand to gain the most with the least amount of (perceived) sacrifice.

Diesels currently have 3.2-percent of the American market. Some estimates put them at 15-percent by 2015. That's a huge leap, and diesel still has plenty of hurdles. Diesels will come with a cost premium over gasoline-engined cars. That should be easy enough to conquer -- incentives and some quick cost and longevity calculations should convince people of the benefit. The real hurdle is the nagging issue of perception. The plan will probably be to attack that with a price that makes the proposition unbeatable. Said Chrysler's director of environmental affairs, "If it's priced right, we can sell diesel here. Diesel can give you an immediate poke in fuel economy -- 20 to 40 percent. Not many technologies can deliver that today."
